Once at a weekend get-together, one of the questions asked during a party game was, “What would you wish for if you found Aladdin’s lamp, but financial gain for you (or others) was not allowed?
I’ve been thinking on this since then and recently one of the ideas that came to mind is:
I would like to be able to interview the fly on the wall in every space shared by two people ( be they spouses, siblings, business partners, co-workers, roommates, inmates or just two folks sharing a carpool). Would we be able to find just one pair who over time never disrespected each other or had a disagreement during their time together? If so what could we learn from them? Would what they know help put a stop to all the mayhem in this world?

When did all the petty arguments between people since Adam and Eve grow into abuse, murder, war, and all the other atrocities modern man now inflicts on each other.
Was Cain and Able really the first murderer and victim? How, when and who will be the one to put an end to all this carnage on the nightly news?
I don't think you would find any one who over time did not disrepect someone or have a disagreement. That is the nature of the world. I do think we need to work harder on being kinder and more gentle with each other. I don't know if that will ever happen!
ReplyDeleteAt first, I wanted to nominate my parents. Then again ... while they never uttered a cross word in my presence, I'd hear the occasional sigh or catch a random tear.
ReplyDeleteAt the risk of being a 'Debby Downer', I don't think perfect harmony exists this side of Heaven.
